Staff Profile - Tracey Donoghue

1st September, 2016

In our series of staff profiles, we introduce you to the friendly faces that help make the Elite so special. First up, we interview one of our longest-serving staff members.

Name: Tracey Donoghue

Job title, Shop: Manager at the Tritton Rd restaurant and takeaway in Lincoln

Period of time worked for company: 18 years (as of 16th September 2016)

Q: Why did you choose to work for The Elite Fish & Chip Company?

I’ve always worked in catering and I only lived across the road when I first applied for the job. It was an ideal way for me to progress in my career while being a busy mum.

Q: What is your favourite part of the job?

Getting to know the customers and being a part of their lives – however small. Because my shifts vary, I get to meet so many different people. I can go for ages without seeing them, but still recognise them and what they like to order.

Q: What is your favourite item on the Elite menu?

I love scampi, but I’d have to say our special smoked haddock and mozzarella fishcakes.

Q: If you could have any superpower what would it be?

The ability to be in ten places at once!

Q: What did you want to be as a child?

I did a lot of dancing and gymnastics when I was growing up so I definitely dreamed of being a ballerina.

Q: What’s your biggest fear?

Being locked in a darkened room and not being able to get out. I even have to keep my foot in the doorway when I go into our freezer at work!

Q: If you could switch jobs with anyone for a day, what would you choose to do?

Having always worked in the catering business and being constantly on my feet, I do sometimes wonder what it would be like to have a desk job. Although I do think I would probably get quite bored!

Q: What is your favourite way to relax outside of work?

Nothing beats spending time with my family. I love getting everyone together and snuggling up on the sofa to watch a movie.

Q: What is at the top of your bucket list?

To go to New York – it gives me goosebumps just talking about it! I’m hoping to go sometime next year to celebrate my birthday.

And finally, what question would you like to ask for our next staff profile?

If you could change anything about yourself, what would it be?
