In our series of staff profiles, we introduce you to the friendly faces that help make the Elite so special. This month, we speak to Jo Scarborough...

Job title, Shop: Waitress at Sleaford

Period of time worked for company: Five years, since the Sleaford restaurant opened.

Q: Why did you choose to work for The Elite Fish & Chip Company? I used to work in Staples before but it was time for a change. I had a friend that knew Adrian well and so it was a case of bring in your CV and that’s how it happened.

Q: What is your favourite part of the job? Meeting my customers. We’ve got regulars who come in, particularly at lunchtimes and I consider this restaurant to be my dining room so I like to treat people as though they’re in my own home. 

Q: What is your favourite item on the Elite menu? Hake (when it’s on the menu!)

Q: If you could have any superpower what would it be? Either to be immortal or be a swan! The reason I say swan is because I refer to our manager Rachel as being a swan as she glides around the restaurant gracefully whereas I feel like a goose!  

Q: What’s your biggest fear? Heights. If I could get out of being up high forever I would. I hate Whitby pier as I can see right through it.

Q: If you could switch jobs with anyone for a day, what would you choose to do? I would switch with Adrian (only when he’s drinking coffee!)

Q: What is your favourite way to relax outside of work? We have a motorhome and we love getting away in it at the weekends. I also like to go fishing.
