Surprise Recognition for Rachel at Red Ribbon Awards

22nd July, 2016

Winning an award that's not even on the nominations list isn't something that happens every day. But that's just what happened to our very own Rachel Tweedale at this year’s Family Business Place Red Ribbon Awards

On 15th July, we arrived at Wembley dressed to the nines and enjoyed a truly magical evening.

As per our previous blog post, Rachel had been shortlisted in the ‘one to watch’ category for the Midlands region, but we were bowled over to discover that she had instead been given a ‘Special Recognition’ award which had been created especially for her.

Towards the end of the night, Rachel was called up to the stage to be recognised for her hard work and devotion as an ambassador for the seafood and fish and chip trade.

We are absolutely delighted that the Elite has been recognised at the Red Ribbon Awards – the first and only independent awards to recognise and celebrate the incredible achievements of enterprising families – once again, after receiving a Commended for Excellence award in the Best of British category at last year’s ceremony.

In 2015, Rachel was also awarded the Drywite Young Fish Frier of the Year title and we couldn’t be more proud of everything she has achieved while heading up our Sleaford restaurant and takeaway.

Being a family business – run, managed and staffed by second and third generation members of the Tweedale family – is something we are immensely proud of and winning these awards is just the cherry on the cake for us.

Or should we say salt and vinegar on our chips…?

Check out some more photos from the night over on our Twitter and Facebook pages.
