Some of you might have already heard the good news by now, but for those of you who haven’t, we’re absolutely delighted to announce that we’re embarking on a new business venture and opening a new fish and chip restaurant and takeaway in Lincoln’s historic Bailgate!
This will be our second restaurant and takeaway in the city, but unlike our flagship outlet on Tritton Road, this new space will also offer a high-quality varied seafood menu on certain days of the week.
Fish and chip lovers needn’t worry though, as we will of course be offering our traditional fish and chips in both the restaurant and the takeaway, which will be accessible from a separate entrance on St Paul’s Lane.
Plans are still being finalised, but our new business idea to turn the former Lloyds TSB bank on the Bailgate into a restaurant and takeaway was given the go-ahead by the City of Lincoln Council last week. We’re now seizing the opportunity for the business to go beyond fish and chips, which is why we’ll be offering a varied seafood menu on certain days of the week.
There are many fantastic eating establishments in the Bailgate but not one that focuses on good-quality seafood – and this new venture will allow us to showcase the fantastic seafood on offer from around the shores of Britain.
Our new outlet is expected to create 40 new jobs for 16 full-time staff members and 24 part-time staff members. We’ll be releasing more information about job opportunities soon, so keep an eye out on our social media pages for announcements.
We have a lot of refurbishment, repair and decoration work to do to the property but once this is completed, we will have space for 80 covers and we look forward to opening for business later in the year.
We’ve had a number of reasons to celebrate in 2019: we featured in The Book of Amazing People and also celebrated a double-award win at last month’s East Midlands Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) Celebrating Small Business Awards 2019 after scooping the Family Business of the Year award for the second year running as well as the Community Business of the Year award (area only).
We’d like to thank everyone who has sent us good wishes and messages of support during this exciting time – we’re really looking forward to setting up shop and being able to add our own unique flavour to the Bailgate mix!
