We’ve Secured £30K for Charity!

17th May, 2019

As most of you will already know by now, in 2018 we celebrated 30 years in business in Lincolnshire - and as part of our anniversary celebrations we announced plans to raise an ambitious £30,000 for three amazing charities.

Since March 2018, we have been fundraising for the RNLI, the RAF Association and Sleaford Dementia Support – and we’re absolutely thrilled to announce that we smashed our target by raising a grand total of £32,128.92!

As part of our year-long schedule of fundraising efforts, we held live music evenings, competitions and a charity quiz. We also launched an exclusive beer which was named by one of our loyal customers in collaboration with The Lincolnshire Brewing Company. The beer was named Ruslinford Ale – and the idea came from a combination of our restaurant locations in Lincolnshire, in the order they opened, Ruskington, Lincoln and Sleaford.

We’re incredibly proud to have reached our ambitious fundraising target and we’re delighted to be able to make such a fantastic contribution to the three charities that really mean a lot to us. To celebrate the wonderful news, on Monday 13th May, representatives from all three charities gathered at our Sleaford restaurant and takeaway to hear the final count of £32,128.92.

As always, we’d like to credit our wonderful staff who work tirelessly everyday to serve quality fish and chips with a smile, and a huge thank you also goes to our loyal customers who have selflessly donated to our fundraising efforts – none of this would be possible without all your generosity and support.

“We are very grateful to Elite for choosing the RAF Association as one of its chosen charities. The money raised will be used to help serving RAF personnel, RAF veterans and their families when they need support.”

-       Rachel Huxford, Director of Marketing, Fundraising and Trading at the RAF Association.

"It's just amazing that Elite have raised so much for our local dementia charity.  We'll be able to make such a difference to people with dementia and their carers from Sleaford and the surrounding villages. Thank you just doesn't seem enough.”

-       Rebecca Mezzo from Sleaford Dementia Support

“We’re incredibly grateful for the ongoing support provided by Elite. Already this year, our lifeboats in Lincolnshire have launched over 25 times, and these launches wouldn’t be possible without such fantastic backing. The money Elite has raised for the RNLI allows us to continue our lifesaving work around the coastline of the UK and Ireland.”

-       Daniel Cooper from the RNLI

This recent news follows a very successful first half of the year for us; earlier this year we celebrated a double award win at the East Midlands Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) Celebrating Small Business Awards 2019 just before announcing our plans to open a new restaurant in Lincoln’s historic Bailgate, due to open later this year.
