Elite on the Bail Opens!

6th February, 2020

It’s been a long time coming but we can finally share the news that our brand new high-quality seafood restaurant and takeaway in Lincoln’s historic Bailgate is now open!

Today we opened our doors to the public for the very first time and were thrilled by the warm welcome we received from both our regular customers and new customers who have been very supportive after discovering our delicious food for the first time.

Before our grand opening we invited over 90 guests to Elite on the Bail for an exclusive VIP preview to see the luxurious interior and décor of the new restaurant and takeaway and to try canapé versions of the delicious dishes available on our menu.

Neighbouring businesses, including A W Curtis Bakers and Butchers, Lincoln Castle and The Crafty Bottle, joined us for a first look around the new premises – and we enjoyed discussing the bright future of the Bailgate area over a glass of bubbly.

We were also joined by The Mayor and The City Sheriff of Lincoln, who expressed their excitement about the stunning food we’ll be providing for seafood lovers and were pleased to hear that another business would be opening in Lincoln.

Two of our newest recruits, Head Chef Myles Mumby and Sous Chef Thadi Cook, prepared canapé versions of the high-quality seafood menu which will be available on Wednesday and Thursday evenings (from 6pm onwards) and all day on Fridays and Saturdays. Our guests were able to enjoy a selection of mini dishes, including crab arancini with Lincolnshire Red cheese and Alfred Enderby smoked salmon tarts with avocado purée caviar.

As well as seafood, we will still be serving the same great traditional fish and chips which we have served for over 30 years across our other three branches in Ruskington, Sleaford and Lincoln. Fish and chips will be available in both our restaurant and takeaway which is accessible from St Paul’s Lane.

In the restaurant we’ll be offering a fine dining experience and our seafood menu will change on a regular basis. Those of you who opt for dishes from our seafood menu when you visit us during our opening week will be able to enjoy Richard Haward of Essex oysters grilled in the shell with Lincolnshire Red cheese and breadcrumbs as well as traditional bouillabaisse, prawns, squid, monkfish and mussels served with chargrilled sourdough.

While growing the business and opening this new venture, we’ve also broadened our extended Elite family even further and have employed 30 new members of staff, including eight full-time members and 22 part-time staff members across the restaurant and takeaway.

If you would like to experience our newest venture for yourself, please do not hesitate to contact us on 01522 568363 to reserve a table.
