In our series of staff profiles, we introduce you to the friendly faces that help make the Elite so special. This month we speak to Nigel Tindall...

Name: Nigel Tindall

Nickname: Nige

Job title, Shop: Operations Manager,Tritton Road, Lincoln

Period of time worked for company: Two and a half years

Q: Why did you choose to work for The Elite Fish & Chip Company? New opportunities came up and I had known the family for many years so it seemed perfect!

Q: What is your favourite part of the job? Customer interaction and maintaining relationships is part and parcel of the job and a very important part too especially as it is a family business.

Q: What is your favourite item on the Elite menu?

All of it!

Q: If you could have any superpower what would it be?

It would be to fly as I love everything aviation - I like being in the sky!

Q: What did you want to be as a child?

An airline pilot!

Q: What’s your biggest fear?

I once had a fear of heights. But in 2010, I was asked by the fisherman’s mission to complete the Kilimanjaro challenge. I met with 7 complete strangers at the airport to do the challenge and we’ve remained good friends. Between 8 of us we managed to raise £20,000 and ever since then I have overcome my fear of heights to an extent.

Q: If you could switch jobs with anyone for a day, what would you choose to do?

I’d have to be a Red Arrows pilot.

Q: What is your favourite way to relax outside of work?

I like walking and being in the outdoors.

Q: What is at the top of your bucket list?

It would be to travel more, see more countries and go somewhere different each year. At the moment, I’m aiming to take my family to the 2020 Olympics in Japan.

Q: If you could change anything about the business, what would it be?

I wouldn’t change anything about the business because you can’t change perfection! But if I could change one thing in the fish and chip industry it would be to refrain fish and chip shops from selling kebabs!

Q: Do you think you’re as good as Mark?

Mark is very good at what he does, the customers like him - he’s very popular with them. All I’m going to say is - I admire how he keeps up the pace at his age!

Q: And finally, what question would you like to ask for our next staff profile?

If you went on Britain’s Got Talent what would be your talent?
