We Raised Ten Grand for Charity in Ten Months!

12th January, 2017

We’re absolutely over the moon to have raised £10,000 for the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal, and it’s thanks to the support and generosity of our loyal customers.

In March 2016, we chose the Poppy Appeal as our charity of the year and set an ambitious fundraising target of £10,000.

As well as placing collection tins in each of our restaurants and takeaways, we came up with various ways in which to raise funds for the cause.

Early on in our fundraising efforts, we sponsored two of our regular customers who ran the Virgin Money London Marathon in April. David Moulds even made his own poppy costume and ran alongside wife Michaela, raising a whopping £4,341.20 in the process!

On Armed Forces Day in June we welcomed 1940s singer Heather Marie to our restaurant in Sleaford for an evening of traditional British food and entertainment.

The event proved so popular that revelers were craving more! Therefore, Heather Marie came to sing for us again as a festive treat in December to celebrate Christmas in style.

Both nights were a sell out and we managed to raise an impressive £3,000. Added to this, one particularly generous guest who attended the Vintage Christmas music event anonymously donated £1,000!

In-store donations from customers topped up the coffers by £6,000 and we are so grateful to everyone who kindly gave what they could to support a cause that is close to our hearts.

It’s amazing for us to have raised this much in such a short space of time and to have reached our target two months before we had imagined we might.

We are continuing our fundraising efforts until March 2017, so if you’d still like to donate please look out for the collection tins in all three of our restaurants and takeaways.

Thank you for your support and generosity and we wish you every success for the year ahead.
