11th September, 2018
What a month September is turning out to be for us! Just a few days ago we celebrated our 30th anniversary and now we’re celebrating for a second time as our restaurant in Ruskington has been awarded the prestigious National Federation of Fish Friers (NFFF) Quality Award once again!
The NFFF is the trade body which represents the nation’s fish and chip shops; its Quality Award Scheme is a way of raising standards within the fish and chip trade and enhancing the profile of the industry. The scheme rewards and promotes shops that provide good quality products and high standards of hygiene, as well as friers who show a high level of competence.
To qualify, an inspection was carried out at the Ruskington restaurant by an NFFF Approved Assessor who came and evaluated each shop’s presentation, hygiene and cleanliness, staff training, equipment, frying, sales skills and most importantly, the quality of our cooked fish and chips. We’re delighted to say that we passed with flying colours!
We know it’s important, now more than ever, to continue to serve quality food to our loyal customers, and this award means that we’re able to remain at the forefront of the UK fish frying industry. Our sustainably sourced fish can be traced back to the vessel it was caught in and is frozen within six hours of being caught. Quality like that is hard to beat and we’re so pleased that our commitment to sustainable fishing, as well as other key aspects of the business, have been recognised.
Our NFFF Fish and Chip Quality Award is valid for two years and all our customers can be assured that when dining at the Elite, they’re being served delicious cooked food using high-quality ingredients.
Currently around 225 fish and chip outlets across the county have been recognised with the NFFF Fish and Chip Quality Award and we’re delighted to say that we are amongst them. Having just celebrated the 30th anniversary of our Ruskington restaurant, this news is the absolute cherry on the cake!
